A little further information about our "Cake & Chorus" event and some words from Mia's Mam :-

Thanks for the opportunity to say a few words.

“The fantastic evening at Low Fell Singers raised an incredible £241.75, for which we are really grateful. Mia was delighted to be able to be part of the night and loved hearing the singing!! I think she also just loved seeing where her Grandma goes to sing every week! Thank you all so much for everything you did. multiple events.

We hope that by the time we complete our big climb at the end of June that we will have raised over £3000. That’s an awesome £1500 to each cause, which will truly make a difference to numerous lives. I’m so proud to be part of this and so grateful to everyone else who has contributed.

APRIL 2018

Ladies, come along on 30th April to our Cake & Chorus fund raising event, you will be made very welcome!!

We are planning a wonderful concert to celebrate

the  life of Barbara Wood

a friend and former choir member, dearly loved and greatly missed.

A native of Stanley, with a background in local music festivals, brass bands and county youth ensembles, Emily joined the Band of the Welsh Guards at eighteen, performing as leader of their string orchestra, a cornet player and a pianist. After an exciting and varied career, which included professional accompanying, solo piano performances and chamber recitals in the Central London area, Emily moved back to the North East in 2011 and, following a PGCE at Durham University, took up the post of Assistant Director of Music at Durham School. Taking on additional roles at Sage, Gateshead, including piano tutor and Music Language Study Leader, has enabled Emily to continue to develop her enthusiasms for music education at all levels. Emily is absolutely delighted to be taking on the mantle of Musical Director of the Low Fell Singers, and is looking forward to leading this talented and friendly choir in continuing their remarkable journey.
